Hi! I’m David Bamford, and I’m one of the two people behind the idea for the guide you’re reading. I grew up in the city of Chester in England, then moved to Sheffield, then Russia (long story - ask me at the bar), and then Manchester where I met my husband, Alan - but I’d always loved visiting Scotland and eventually we took the plunge and moved to Glasgow in 2022.

I’ve been involved with fandom and cons since Mancunicon in 2016, and haven’t looked back. Bringing a Worldcon to Glasgow is a fantastic opportunity to show off this city and the many wonderful people, places and sights within it.
