Distilleries

It wouldn't be a proper guide without a mention of Glasgow's distilleries, would it?

The Glasgow Social Wiki has more detail.

The Clydeside Distillery is just a few minutes walk from the SEC on Stobcross Road. Discover all you ever wanted to know about Scottish whisky and steep yourself in some local history while you’re at it. Tour packages start from £17.50 per person, and last for between 1-2 hours depending on the tour you choose. More details: https://www.theclydeside.com/

The nearest “old” distillery to Glasgow. Founded in 1833 it is 14 miles north of the city, set under a hill at the end of the Campsie Fells. Glengoyne is a Highland whisky as the stills are in the Highlands region even though the cask maturing warehouses, across the road, are in the Lowlands. See https://www.glengoyne.com for more details on visits and so forth.
